Tourist SOS — Scammed or Lost Passport?
A one-page emergency route for visitors to the Gulf: you have been scammed, lost your passport, or both. Here is the order that protects your money, your documents and your trip — embassy, police, bank, in the right sequence.

📞 1 · Police first if you are in danger
If you are in immediate danger or have been robbed, call the local emergency number now (999 in most Gulf states; 911 in Saudi Arabia; 9999 in Oman; 112 in Kuwait). Tell the police what happened and get an official report or reference number — you will need it for the embassy, the bank and insurance.
🛂 2 · Lost passport → your embassy
Contact your embassy or consulate immediately. They will issue an emergency travel document. Do not pay a random “agent” who offers to fix your passport — passport replacement is done only through your embassy.
💳 3 · Scammed? Freeze your cards now
If you paid a scammer by card, call your bank immediately and freeze the card. Do this before anything else — the sooner the freeze, the better the chance of a chargeback. Most Gulf banks have a 24/7 fraud line on the back of your card.
🚨 4 · Report the scam officially
Report through the country’s official channel — see the Report page for the right portal and number in each GCC state. Keep every message, receipt and screenshot as evidence. Official reports are what trigger investigations and refunds.
🛡️ 5 · Prevention for the rest of your trip
Book through official sites only, pay by card not transfer, keep passport photos and embassy numbers on your phone, and remember: no official — police, hotel or “airport staff” — ever asks for your OTP or card PIN.
