Fake online stores

A fake shop is designed to look like a real one right up to the moment you pay. The checks below take a minute and cost you nothing.

What a fake store looks like

Fake shops are usually advertised through social-media posts, short videos or paid ads rather than through a known brand. They copy product photos from real sellers, price everything below what any legitimate seller could offer, and give no verifiable address, landline or company details. Often the only way to pay is a direct transfer to an individual or a payment link outside the shop — and once paid, the order never arrives and the page disappears. It is a complete online-store swindle — commercial fraud that is deliberate and planned, not an accident.

“Limited quantity at a price far below the market — order now.”
“Pay by transfer to reserve your order.”
“Only one left — the offer ends tonight.”
“Buy two and get three free.”

How to check a store before you pay

Look for a real company identity: a registered name, an address you can find independently, and a contact number that is not a personal mobile. Read the return and delivery terms — a shop with no returns policy is a shop with no obligations. Search the store's name and its domain together with words such as complaint or fraud, and check the product photo by searching the image itself: if the same picture is sold by several unrelated shops, it has been copied.

Paying safely is most of the protection

Prefer a payment method that leaves a trace and offers a dispute route, such as a card or an official payment gateway, rather than a direct transfer to an individual. Never pay a private account for a company purchase, never send money in crypto to an unknown seller, and be suspicious of any shop that exists only inside a chat app. If the seller refuses every method except a transfer, take that as your answer and walk away.

⚠️ Prices far below the market, combined with heavy time pressure.
⚠️ Payment only by direct transfer to a person or through a chat app.
⚠️ No address, no landline and no registered company details.
⚠️ Product photos that appear on other, unrelated shops.
⚠️ A website domain that does not match the brand name it is using.
  1. Search the store's name with the words complaint, fraud or refund before you buy.
  2. Check the product photo with an image search to see where else it appears.
  3. Read the returns, delivery and contact pages — if they are missing, stop.
  4. Pay with a method that can be disputed; never by transfer to an individual.
  5. Keep the order confirmation, the listing screenshots and the payment receipt.
  6. If the order never arrives, report it officially through your country's channel (below).
If you already paid
Call your bank immediately and ask them to block the card and dispute the payment. Keep every message and screenshot, and report the shop through the official channel for your country so that the domain and the receiving account can be acted on.
A sponsored post is not a recommendation
A paid placement only means the seller paid for visibility; it does not mean the platform has checked the shop. Treat every store you discover through an advertisement as unverified until you have checked it yourself.
